ok well the grenadians sound kinda like that . its a integration of trini and grenadian. My grandmother knew kitchener personally and for many years as a friend. Don’t feel in any way that it was meant to be offensive as he was playing on the version of the accent that was popular in trini.

Country is not a … Country is not a term meant to indicate intelligence. I was refering to the fact that in rural areas, older ways of speech are held onto. I would not say that all ways with the English landuage are equally irksome. Rich Barbadians and Trinidadian sound much closer to the Queen, in my perception, than Jamaicans and Grenadians. And St. Lucians speak closer than all of them, but then their “bastardizations” are in French not English, as with, although to a lesser degree, Trinidadians.

Truly the Grand … Truly the Grand Master. Many years ago I worked with the performers who came into Saint Thomas for the Carnival. Kitch was the one who always came off of the BWIA plane wearing a suit and tie. He was always the one who could play every part of each song on any instrument from string to pan. A musician TO THE BONE. He used to stutter so if he wanted to get a point across quickly, he would sing it. He didn’t stutter when he sang. We all lost a friend.
